Between 1998 and 2024, I was a lecturer at Goldsmiths College in London, UK, a college once known for innovative and critical research in contemporary thought and culture. I held various positions in departments of Art, Historical and Cultures Studies, and Visual Cultures.
I believe that education should be about promoting and cultivating our collective imagination, investigating and learning from the past, as well as exploring and experimenting on how we live and organise together our social, political, and cultural lives.
I’m particularly interested in how carefully conducted research combined with imaginative and creative new perspectives can help to understand, attend, and respond to contemporary issues, controversies, and matters of concern. This is an ethos that I always try to keep with me while in pedagogical settings.
